The Hip Hop Cruises to Jamaica compilation captures some of the most prominent figures in Hip Hop history along with a diverse and meticulously chosen group of artists representing the New Millennial Generation of Modern Hip Hop.
With prolific names featured on the album such as Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, Chris Brown, Jadakiss, just to name a few, considering the credentials and positions held by these music giants, it’s obvious why this compilation has been rigorously chosen to spear-head the first quarter of the new year. The Contractor Music Group and Amada Records have worked diligently in securing the deal with Entertainment Executive, Tiffany Gaines, of SSMG/Universal Music Group Distribution and she couldn’t be more thrilled in assisting with the launch of a prestigious project as this one. She currently distributes and markets for over 4000 artists and 39 sub labels and jumped at the opportunity when she saw the first project Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica premiere on Billboard and MSN Entertainment which eventually landed 19 weeks on the Billboard reggae album charts and spent 4 weeks at number 1.
Hip Hop Cruises to Jamaica released on November 17th as a double album, comprised of 30 tracks. The physical copies can be purchased exclusively at the official website of Amada Records. It distinguishes itself in form from some of the year’s other most anticipated releases as it contains groundwork from artists who represent, in retrospect, a unique significance in their own lane.
To help set the contemporary tone for the album, the new millennials dominating the project include Lil Nate Dogg, son of legendary Nate Dogg, who recently released a #1 hit song “Get Away” as reported by Nielsen Soundscan ratings earlier this year, surpassing Drake, Bruno Mars, Migos and many others to hit the peak position. His collaboration with Santo August and Jormaniak featured on the Hip Hop Cruises to Jamaica compilation titled “The Last Word”, produced by super producer Mally Mall, contains a high energetic drum pattern beautifully textured infectiously leaving any listener rhythmically wanting more.
Faided, an American rapper and Producer widely recognized for his production credits for artists such as Snoop Dogg, Freeway of Roc Nation, E40’s record label Sick Wid It Records, just to name a few, collaborated with legendary rapper Project Pat, also known as older brother of Juicy J, the co-founder of Three 6 Mafia, in song titled “N Dis Bish” which also features on the Hip Hop Cruises to Jamaica compilation. Furthermore, Faided will be including another heavy hitter titled “Chop Stix” by Oscar winning Crunchy Black in the next DJ Grid Project Volume 2 releasing some time in the new year.
Pomona Drey, first artist to sign a deal with Snoop Dogg’s Tha Return of DoggyStyle Records and RMM known for his lead in the Pomona City Movement features his hit single “MIA” produced by Super Producer “Al OG Boogie, noted for his collaborative works with icons Dr Dre, Rick Ross, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube.
More notable artists to look out for on the compilation are C-Murda, Keith Murray, Royce Da 59, DJ Kutt Throat, Ralo, Boneface, Shaggy, Bounty Killer, Castleton and more. The Contractor Music Group, Amada Records and Gaines expect the project to climb the Billboard charts top of the new year. Considering the names attached to the project along with the support of loyal fans, the possibility of this becoming yet another success story seems quite promising.
